Straight answer first
A fully custom, IGI-certified lab-grown engagement ring in solid 14k gold — stone, setting, CAD design and production included — generally lands between $1,500 and $4,500 for centre stones from 1.5ct to 4ct. Below is a shape-by-shape breakdown so you can find your actual number instead of a range that means nothing.

Methodology — read this before you cite it
- These are modelled estimates, not transactions. Lavora's completed builds are published separately at real ring prices.
- The model is calibrated against Lavora's own completed 2026 builds. Against those rings it currently lands within roughly 4%.
- Structure: a fixed floor covering setting, metal, labour and CAD, plus a carat curve that scales faster than linearly, adjusted by certified colour and clarity, plus flat adders for setting complexity.
- All figures are all-in: IGI-certified centre stone, setting, 14k gold unless noted, custom CAD, and production.
- Lab-grown wholesale pricing moves continuously. These are not quotes and are not guaranteed. Final pricing follows live stone sourcing.
- Ranges shown are ±8% around the modelled point.

The single biggest lever on your budget
It is not carat. It is colour and clarity, and this is measurable in Lavora's own completed builds.
A finished 3.16ct oval in D colour, Internally Flawless cost $3,249. A finished 4.02ct oval in E colour, VVS2 cost $3,349. Nearly a full carat more diamond for $100 more — because colour dropped a single grade and clarity dropped from Internally Flawless. Neither difference is visible without magnification.
If size matters to her, spend on carat and take G–F colour with VS1–VS2 clarity. If she is a details person who will look at the certificate, spend on grades. Paying for both is where most budgets get quietly wasted.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a 3 carat lab-grown diamond engagement ring cost?
A 3.0ct oval lab-grown diamond in G colour and VS2 clarity, set in a 14k gold solitaire, estimates at roughly $2,050–$2,400 all-in including the certified stone, setting, custom CAD and production. Adding a hidden halo or moving to F/VS1 raises it to roughly $2,300–$2,700.
What can I get for a $3,000 engagement ring budget?
At $3,000 all-in you are generally looking at a 3.5ct to 4ct IGI-certified lab-grown centre stone in G–H colour and VS2 clarity, in a 14k gold solitaire or hidden halo setting, fully custom designed.
What does a 4 carat lab-grown diamond ring cost?
A 4.0ct oval in H/VS2 in a 14k gold solitaire estimates at roughly $2,900–$3,400 all-in. A completed Lavora build at 4.02ct in E/VVS2 came to $3,349.
Is it worth paying for D colour and IF clarity?
Usually not. Neither grade is distinguishable to the naked eye from E–G colour or VS1–VVS clarity once the stone is set. The same money spent on carat produces a visibly larger ring.
Are these prices a quote?
No. They are modelled estimates calibrated on completed 2026 builds. Lab-grown wholesale pricing moves continuously and every custom ring is priced against live stone sourcing at time of order.
