What Custom Lab-Grown Engagement Rings Actually Cost — Real Lavora Builds (2026)

Why this page exists
Almost nobody publishes what a custom engagement ring actually costs. You get “prices vary” and a contact form. That makes it nearly impossible to tell whether a quote you were handed is fair.
So here are real Lavora builds with their real prices and, where available, their IGI report numbers — the specific certified stone, the specific setting, the specific price the client paid.
Methodology and limits — read this before citing
- Sample size: 5 completed custom rings. That is a small sample. It is not a market average and should not be presented as one.
- Unless a row says otherwise, prices are all-in: certified center stone, setting, metal, custom CAD design, and production. One exception: the 3.52ct cushion figure is a certified stone-only price with no setting included, and is labelled as such in the table.
- All center stones are IGI-certified lab-grown. Report numbers are listed where the certificate is on file; where a number is not listed, it is not published here.
- Lab-grown diamond wholesale pricing moves. These reflect builds priced in 2026 and are not a forward quote.
- No competitor quotes appear on this page. Only Lavora's own prices for its own completed work.

Build detail
3.16ct Oval — D / Internally Flawless — $3,249 all-in
IGI Report No. LG768619254 (issued February 6, 2026). Oval brilliant, 3.16 ct, colour D (colourless), clarity Internally Flawless. Polish excellent, symmetry excellent, fluorescence none. Measurements 11.98 × 8.38 × 5.17 mm — a 1.43 length-to-width ratio, which is the elongated look most oval buyers are actually after.
Set in 14K white gold with a hidden halo, four double-round prongs, and a 4mm band. This is the highest-spec stone on this page. To be precise about the grading scales: D is the top of the colour scale, and Internally Flawless is the second-highest clarity grade — one step below Flawless — meaning no inclusions are visible under 10× magnification, though minor surface characteristics may be present.
4.02ct Oval — E / VVS2 — $3,349 all-in
IGI Report No. LG799653539. Oval brilliant, 4.02 ct, colour E, clarity VVS2. Set in 14K yellow gold, classic basket solitaire, 2mm band. Includes a custom interior inscription.
Worth noting against the ring above: this stone is nearly a full carat larger for $100 more, because it steps down one grade in colour and two grades in clarity. Both are differences that are extremely difficult to see without magnification for most people. That trade is where most of the value in a lab-grown budget lives.
3.50ct Oval, hidden halo, low-set — $2,799 all-in
14K yellow gold, hidden halo, low-set basket design, 3.5mm band. Custom CAD and production included. Low-set baskets sit closer to the finger and pair more cleanly with a wedding band.
3.52ct Cushion Modified Brilliant — E / VVS2 — $2,649 stone only
IGI-certified lab-grown cushion modified brilliant, colour E, clarity VVS2. This figure is for the certified stone only. Setting, metal and production are not included, so it is not directly comparable to the all-in ring prices in the rest of this table.
~2.00ct Marquise, bezel solitaire — $2,149 all-in
Approximately 2.00 ct marquise lab-grown centre stone, 14K yellow gold, bezel-set solitaire, ring size 6. Built from an approved custom design. Carat is approximate; no certificate number is published for this build.
What this tells you about your own quote
If you have been quoted a number for a comparable certified stone and setting, the useful comparison is not the total — it is the certificate. Ask for the IGI or GIA report number, verify it at igi.org, and ask for the stone price and the setting price as two separate figures. Two rings described identically in conversation can carry very different certificates.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a 3ct oval lab-grown diamond engagement ring cost?
Across Lavora's completed 2026 builds, a 3.16ct oval in D/IF set in 14K white gold with a hidden halo was $3,249 all-in, and a 3.50ct oval with a hidden halo in 14K yellow gold was $2,799 all-in. Price is driven by the certified colour and clarity grades and the setting complexity, not by carat alone. Sample size is five rings.
How much does a 4ct lab-grown diamond ring cost?
A 4.02ct oval, E colour, VVS2 clarity, in a 14K yellow gold basket solitaire was $3,349 all-in in 2026 (IGI Report LG799653539).
Is a lab-grown diamond cheaper if I drop from D to E colour?
Materially, yes. In these builds a 4.02ct E/VVS2 ring cost $100 more than a 3.16ct D/IF ring — nearly a full carat more stone for roughly the same money, because colour dropped one grade and clarity dropped two grades from Internally Flawless. For most people neither difference is readily visible to the naked eye.
What is the difference between Flawless, Internally Flawless and VVS2?
Flawless (FL) is the highest clarity grade: no inclusions and no blemishes under 10× magnification. Internally Flawless (IF) is second: no inclusions, but minor surface blemishes may be present. VVS1 and VVS2 follow, with inclusions that are very difficult for a trained grader to see under 10×. None of these grades show inclusions to the unaided eye.
Are these prices guaranteed?
No. Lab-grown diamond wholesale pricing moves, and every custom ring is quoted against live stone sourcing at the time of order. These are records of completed 2026 builds, not a price list.
