How to measure

Wrap a thin strip of paper around the base of the finger.
Mark where it overlaps; measure the length in millimeters.

Elongated vs classic cushion

A classic cushion is close to square. An elongated cushion has a longer length-to-width ratio, which reads larger on the finger for the same carat weight and pairs more cleanly with a wedding band. Ask for the ratio on the IGI report before you buy.
