How it works

Search, or tap a section. Scripts to send clients are in the other two tabs.

The 7 steps, start to finish

Nothing else happens in between. Lost? Find your step here.
  1. You submit the CAD request youPhotos, ring size, carat, metal, budget. Submit.
  2. Ryan emails you the CAD ryan12–24 hours. It includes the exact final price.
  3. You send it to the client youUse the CAD delivery message under Quote a ring. Always include the final price.
  4. They approve, or ask for a change youChanges → send to Ryan, he returns a new CAD, repeat step 3.
  5. They approve youTell Ryan. He sends the invoice.
  6. Invoice paid → production ryanAbout 3 weeks. You check in once a week.
  7. Delivered youAsk for a Google review + referral ($150 to them).

After you submit a CAD

What happens next, and what you do while you wait.

I sent the CAD request. What’s my next step?
Nothing until Ryan emails it back. Do not chase the client while you wait. The moment it lands, send it with the price. That is the whole step.
They picked a diamond. Do I tell them anything?
Yes — tell them it’s moving, then submit. Send this:
Perfect!! We’ll proceed with the CAD and send it back to you within 12–24 hours. Anything else you want changed before I send it to the design team?
Do they send a link, or screenshots?
Screenshots — the more angles the better. A link is fine too, but screenshots are what the design team builds from. Before you submit, make sure you also have ring size, carat size, and budget. If any are missing, ask before you send it in — a CAD on a guess is a wasted round trip.

Price & quotes

Ask budget first. It shapes every number after it.

His budget is $3k and he was quoted $3,100 elsewhere. What do I say?
Get close to their budget but stay a little under it, and give about a $300 range. Never go so high it scares them off.

And always ask to see the competitor quote. It is almost always setting only, with the diamond added later.
Send me that quote if you don’t mind!! A lot of the time those numbers are the setting only and the stone gets added after, so it isn’t the same ring. Want me to break down exactly what you’d be getting for each?
Do I use the tool’s range, or my own number?
Start from the tool, then adjust toward their budget — never above it. The tool is the floor of truth. Never invent a number with no tool run behind it.

Rings & bands

The extra details you need before anything can be priced.

Is a band different from a ring?
Bands need two extra things and that’s it:
  • Width in mm, or roughly how wide she wants it
  • Diamonds all the way around (eternity) or halfway down (half eternity)
Then ring size, metal, photos — same as a ring.
Love it!! Two quick things so I can get you an exact number — How wide are you thinking for the band (in mm)? And do you want the diamonds all the way around, or just halfway down?
Her band has diamonds, not just gold. Does that change anything?
It changes the price, not the process. Same two questions. Do not talk anyone out of a band before Ryan prices it — a small ring size means less gold, and bands often come in cheaper than people expect.
The shape isn’t on the quote sheet.
Price it as the closest normal shape. Then write the real name on the CAD request so the design team builds the right thing.
They want exact stone measurements.
Exact measurements come off the CAD, so ask Ryan. Same for a specific diamond colour — he pulls the stone videos. Don’t guess measurements.
Great question!! Let me grab the exact measurements off the CAD for you — I’ll have them over shortly.

When you’re stuck

Never go quiet. Hold the conversation open.

They asked something and I don’t know the answer.
Check What to say first. If it isn’t there, don’t go quiet on the client while you wait. Hold the conversation open:
Great question!! Let me double check that for you so I get it exactly right — I’ll come back to you today.
When do I send the 3D builder?
Send it when someone doesn’t know what they want yet — no reference photos, vague on shape, unsure about carat.

Don’t send it to someone who already sent photos or specs. Quote them instead.

Heads up: StoneAlgo shows setting-only pricing. That is why we sometimes look more expensive.
Nothing matches that. Try a shorter word, or check the What to say tab.

The sequence, every time

Gather info → ask budget → CAD → close.

Ask budget first. It shapes every number after it.

Send it to Ryan when

· Ring is over $8,000
· They want a phone call or in-person consult
· They ask for a specific diamond colour
· They want exact stone measurements off a CAD
· They are upset, or anything involving a refund
· They ask about a warranty claim, resizing price, or cleaning
Everything else is yours. Reply first, ask Ryan second. A fast imperfect reply beats a slow perfect one — you will never be in trouble for answering.
